Grant Lawrence
Earl Grant Lawrence received his Masters of Music Degree (M.M.) in Music Composition from the Boston Conservatory of Music, and his Bachelor of Music Degree (B.M) in Applied Flute from Fisk University.
Since that time, Grant has provided artistic leadership and performance around the globe, in addition to passionately serving the greater community through outreach and education.
Recipient of the James Pappoutsakis Composer Award, Grant has performed onstage with Duke Ellington, Eubie Blake, Billy Taylor, Clark Terry, Ray Brown, Benny Carter, Quincy Jones and Cannonball Adderly, and his concert work as a professional flutist has taken him from New York to France, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Poland, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic.
Grant, when not on tour, resides in the Boston, Massachusetts area, producing the work of Diversions, his multi-cultural jazz orchestra, preparing repertoire for performance, and continuing his educational and outreach work in the Greater Boston area.
